Christmas Eve 2017

I absolutely LOVE it when Christmas Eve falls on a Sunday!  What a perfect way to start the holiday off!  And this year was no exception!  We went to church and participated in a beautiful Christmas program.  The girls and I sang in the ward choir. Then, we all went home.  There were no classes this Sunday - only sacrament meeting.  It was such a lovely morning.

The only problem was, it was over by 10:00 in the morning.  We had a whole day ahead of us without the option of going to Wendy's like the Gee family tradition. Or to finish up our Christmas shopping like the David Gee tradition.  Hee hee hee.  Plus, the kids were super excited and antsy!  Christmas was almost here!  

So what we ended up doing was putting them in charge of putting together a nativity play to show us that evening.  They worked for a long time on the play, costumes, memorizing lines, etc.  It worked out well.    

Since Grandma Church had recently moved into an assisted living facility, we weren't going to have our big family get-together at her house on Christmas Eve.  That was okay.  We decided to swap our traditions and have our traditional Christmas dinner on Christmas Eve this year instead.  Then, we'd have a family get together with pot luck treats at my parents house on Christmas Day.  It worked out great.  We were able to have a quiet family Sunday Christmas dinner of Lasagna (I know it's strange, but that's been our family's Christmas dinner for four or five years now).  After dinner, my parents and Uncle Scott stopped by.  They watched the nativity play.

It was very cute. After our guests left, we watched Luke 2 on TV.

Then, we opened our pajamas from Grandma and Grandpa Gee. This is one of the favorite traditions of our children! They were so excited, I had a hard time capturing a picture that wasn't blurry.  I had a hard time finding Quinton in this picture, then I saw some cute little feet on the couch next to Josh.

I love Bronson in this one - holding up with pajamas with pure joy!

Thanks to my super shopping skills, each kid got two pairs of pajamas, but I made them wear the Christmas ones for the holiday.
