He opened presents from the kids first thing in the morning. You gotta love Dollar Store presents from young children. They always know the best things to get like a six-inch plastic bust of a tiger. Who doesn't want that?!?!

David worked on his birthday, but he was able to get done early. He was home in the early afternoon. He rested and read for a while (he's been fighting a pretty nasty cough). Then he got to work on his dinner. I bought some nice steaks for dinner. We usually eat cheap steaks, but these were fancy. He cooked them on the grill using America's Test Kitchen's recipe and they were delightful! I made the baked potatoes, corn on the cob, salad, and drink. Dave's parents joined us for dinner. It was delicious. Sue came by afterwards and we all had Dave's favorite birthday cake - one that has no cake in it. Only ice cream. Thank heaven for DQ!

Dave's presents were all well received. Of course, he either bought them himself or told me exactly what to get. Not a single surprise in the lot. Oh well, when you're old, you'd rather get something you like than something unexpected.
